Beginner Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: No Martial Arts experience whatsoever? No problem. This is the class for you. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the world’s most effective single martial arts style and utilizes technical body positioning and leverage to subdue an opponent. It features a short callisthenic warm-up followed by movement drills that train your body to perform the techniques. At least half of the class consists of technical instruction in the fundamental holds, escapes, chokes and armbars that have made B.J.J. practitioners so successful in competitions around the world. There is no live sparring in this class.
Beginner Boxing/Kickboxing: This is a great workout that features detailed instruction in the basics of punching, kicking, blocking and proper footwork. You will learn how to use training equipment like heavy bags and focus mitts and build core strength, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness. An hour of kickboxing will burn between 600 and 900 calories! This program is designed for people with no previous training and there is no contact sparring in the classes.
Beginner M.M.A.: An introduction to the world's fastest-growing sport. Areas covered include the fundamentals of striking in all ranges, basic takedowns, grappling positions and submissions. A full hour of fast-paced drills and technical instruction. This is a great workout but there is no contact sparring or live grappling in the class.
Advanced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: This class continues to focus on the essential fundamental positions and submissions with added emphasis on combining techniques and developing a complete game. Warm-ups are more intense and there is a live sparring component in every class.
Submission Wrestling: This is the same as Advanced BJJ but without the gi. Training is done in shorts and a t-shirt or rashguard.
Intermediate Boxing: This class continues to build on the basics of punching, blocking and proper footwork. The training sessions are a bit more intense and you will get an introduction into sparring. This program is designed for people with some boxing experience already.
Intermediate Muay Thai: Similar to intermediate boxing this class is a step up from our beginner Kickboxing class with more focus on advanced techniques and live sparring. This program is designed for people with some previous kickboxing experience.
Mixed Martial Arts: This is our most intense class and not for the faint of heart. Experienced club members can get permission to attend by speaking with one of our trainers. It features a combination of intense conditioning drills and live contact sparring both on the feet and on the ground. Do you want to be a fighter?
Fit-to-Fight: Train like a fighter! This one hour session will build up strength, cardiovascular fitness and flexibility for anyone who is looking to get into peak physical condition. Recommended for those at an intermediate to advanced fitness level. Is this for you? Talk to one of our trainers.
